October 10 2026 Horus Heresy:


Age of Darkness LVO for the Rest of Us.
Summary
The event will take place across 3 rounds at Mythic Games Santa Cruz. This Campaign will use
1500 point armies for 28mm Heresy with list building restrictions below. Some units have been
restricted to account for the smaller game size. This is a casual game day so feel free to try new
and exciting things!


Venue
Mythic Games Santa Cruz, 149 River St S, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
Parking for the shopping center is located between the Trader Joe’s parking lot and the
River Street Parking Garage. Attendees are recommended to use this lot, or the parking
garage. The Trader Joe’s parking lot restriction is heavily enforced. The game store is
on the edge of downtown Santa Cruz and there are numerous food options available.


Army Construction
What you will need to bring or do:
■ Each player’s army will be 1500 points, using the Core Rulebook, Relevant
Liber, Journal Tactica, any and all Exemplary and Legacy PDFs, all
Errata/FAQ, and any campaign books, Along with Everyday 30k Publications.
■ The Everyday 30k Expanded Units List: Marines, Daemons, Humans/Mech
■ 40k Rhinos, Land Raiders, Predators, Whirlwinds/Scorpius, and Vindicators
do not count as proxies, and may be used as Demios/Phobos Pattern units.
■ All additional proxies need a printed list that can be loaned to the opponent,
and must be logically consistent as to not allow an advantage in gameplay. If
you have questions contact the TO.
■ Models with the Paragon Unit Type are banned.
■ No individual characters are allowed (unique keyword)
■ No Kratos may be taken
■ Titans May not be Taken
■ No Warlords

What to Bring
■ Each player must bring two (2) printed copies of their list. We cannot accept hand
written lists.
■ Each list must have the following: Name of the Unit, its total points cost, and any
wargear that has been given to them.
■ Two (2) lists of all proxies that have been OK'd by the TO's and what they are
representing.
■ Dice, a tape measure, pen or pencil, templates, and any counters you need for
remembering stuff
■ If using PDF or expanded lists, bring those rules to share with your opponent
■ The reference sheet from the Saturnine box set or another reference guide is highly
encouraged


Mission Pack
Missions will be a combination of selections from the core rulebook, as well as the Zone Mortalis
Journal Tactica. While Zone Mortalis will not be explicitly played, we will use the mission
clearance protocols as described in the JT. At the conclusion of each round, both combatants
will report their results, including VP to the tournament organizer. This information will be used
for pairings in later rounds. All special rules as defined in the mission briefing are in effect.

Terrain 28mm:
1. No Terrain Will be considered a Building Unless it is bought for points as a
Fortification.
2. No terrain is dangerous debris unless stated
3. No terrain will be marked as heavy terrain.
4. Medium terrain does not block line of sight to units within the terrain from other units
also in the terrain. IE if both units are in a piece of terrain, then regardless if they are
more than 3 inches from each other they can draw line of sight as long as at least 1
model has true line of sight.


Rules of Decorum
■ Always be polite and respectful
■ Always tell the truth and never cheat
■ Arrive on time with all of the things you need to play the game
■ Avoid using language your opponent may find offensive
■ Offer your opponent a chance to examine your army roster before the battle starts
■ Answer any questions your opponent has about your army and the rules that apply to
your army
■ Measure moves and distances carefully and accurately. When in doubt, confirm
distances with your opponent before moving
■ Give your opponent the chance to examine your dice rolls before picking up the dice.
■ Ask permission before touching any of your opponent’s models
■ Remind your opponent about rules they may have forgotten to use or that they have
used incorrectly, especially when doing so is to your opponent’s advantage rather
than your own
■ Never deliberately waste time during a game
■ Avoid distracting an opponent when they are trying to concentrate, and be careful to
respect their personal space
■ Never complain about your bad luck or your opponent’s good luck. It’s a dice game!
■ Never fix the outcome of a game.


Hobby Requirements
■ Armies are not expected to be fully painted.
■ Models are expected to be fully built and attached to a base of appropriate size.
■ Proxies must be logically consistent / easy for an opponent to track
